History of Sandal Private Museum

On August 17, 2018 the owner of Fil. Dr. Jan-U. Sandal Institute made a consecutive decission and instantly gave an excecutive order to open Sandal Private Museum. To secure the long term financing of the Sandal Private Museum and its scientific and educational activities the Museum Fund was erected on September 6, the same year. The search for an appropriate venue to host the Sandal Private Museum began directly. Several options were analyzed and the choice fell on a venue in immediate proximity of the Fil. Dr. Jan-U. Sandal Institute located at the Institute Campus # 2. The following months were busy relocating artifacts from their previous positions to the new venue. A huge number of artifacts that had been accumulated over many decads and stored at varios addresses, had to be moved. During the spring semester 2019 the exhibition, repository and scientific sections of the Sandal Private Museum were installed.

The first call for applications to the Sandal Private Museum Exchange Programme (SPME) was distributed among Professors and scholars affiliated to the Fil. Dr. Jan-U. Sandal Institute International University Network world wide, covering 85 thousand students and 20 thousand faculty members. Application deadline was set to March 15, 2019 at 23:59 (Oslo time), and exchange periode was from June 7 – 16, the same year. The main goals for the exchange program for each scholar were writing a scientific article for publishing and preparing a scientific guide presentation based on the experiences at Fil. Dr. Jan-U. Sandal Private Museum, increasing scientific interaction nationally and globally, and developing effective knowledge transfer mechanisms.

The Inauguration of Sandal Private Museum took place on June 15, 2019.
